Luxury Hybrids: Are They Worth the Cost?
Luxury Hybrids: Are They Worth the Cost?
by Scott Conklin
In a world where more and more people are driving hybrids to both save on gas and be more environmentally friendly, many people ask why they should have to surrender on the luxury they enjoy in a new car just to be more environmentally friendly. Well, thanks to companies like Lexus, Porsche, Cadillac, and Mercedes you don't have to. But, by keeping the luxury that many desire are they sacrificing what makes the hybrid truly worth it?
Fuel Efficiency vs. Cost of the Vehicle
One of the biggest draws of a hybrid is that with the money you save on gas will quickly off-set the difference between a hybrid and a traditionally powered vehicle. Then after the first few years, you hope to pocket the savings. With a car like the Toyota Prius that sells for less than $30,000, the difference seems easy to see and could justify spending the extra on the car. But what about a $50,000 car? What if you're spending closer to $100,000? At a certain point, the amount of money you'll save on gas might not off-set the amount you're spending on the car.
Granted, anybody who can afford a $100,000 car probably isn't concerned with off-setting the cost of the car by spending less on gas. Whereas a Toyota Prius can get close to 50 miles per gallon, many of these luxury hybrids get less than 40 miles per gallon. The real comparison, obviously, must be to other luxury vehicles of like size. The Cadillac Escalade Hybrid is rated over 5 miles per gallon better than the traditional gas Escalade. So even with large luxury vehicles, the mileage difference can make up the cost difference given enough time and miles.
Reduced Emissions
While many buy hybrids for the money they save on gas, others buy hybrids simply for their environmentally friendly nature. In this area, luxury hybrids can still justify their cost. Regardless of whether they get the same fuel efficiency as some of the more traditional hybrids, luxury hybrids still have fewer emissions than their non-hybrid cousins. Those who are willing to spend the money to purchase a luxury hybrid can still feel good about helping the environment by reducing the amount of emissions being released by their vehicle.
Is It Worth It?
In the end, the only person that can determine whether or not a luxury hybrid is worth the extra cost is the person buying it. While it won't be as fuel efficient as small hybids, and you my not be able to off-set the total cost of the vehicle with your gas savings, the ability to help the environment by reducing emissions is all many people really want. Either way, there's never anything wrong with purchasing any type of hybrid, and if you can afford a luxury hybrid, there's no reason you can't have all the amenities of a luxury car and cut back on gas and emissions at the same time.

Convert your car from gas to water : New toyota 2009
Convert your car from gas to water
by Jana Mraz
So here's the fact, the environment is getting worse every day. It's time for each of us to take charge and reverse this inclination by eliminating harmful exhaust emissions. Converting your car to a water run vehicle is the very first practical, helpful step you can take towards repairing the damage that car exhaust emissions have already done to the environment.
You can set a good exemplar by showing others how you personally manage to reduce your own demand for petroleum. If everybody did there would be less demand for foreign oil and large drilling rigs and factories that pollute our lands and seas.
• Water can be obtained FREE and is available anywhere and less than a QUART is needed to run a family car or company vehicle for hundreds of miles! Why buy a hybrid car when you can just get a quart of water and attach it to your engine.
• A car running on water runs cooler which helps the overall effect of global warming due to the heat emitted by running machinery each and every day.
• Your new clean burning engine will only add water and oxygen to the atmosphere instead of carbon and chemical particulates that cause toxic smog!
Now, enough of the environmental part. We all now know we have to tighten our belt due to the global economic downturn. Every single one wants to cut cost whenever and wherever they can. Why not start with converting your car from gas to water. You will save tons of money. But by how much can you save from it? We all know every car manufacture uses slightly different designs, so we can't give you the exact savings you will get. What we can say is what we've experienced: Take Peter Minovski from Cleveland, Ohio. He has a Ford pickup and in November he installed the Gas4Free device in his car engine. Peter and his brother tested the device on seven more cars, of all different makes and models, (mostly owned by neighbors and family) and found on average that no matter what, the device increased mileage by a whopping 39%. One tiny Honda Civic fixed up by another neighbor had a massive mpg savings of 80%. Is this technology safe? Since you're converting water into an explosive gas, you might be thinking "Isn't that dangerous? NO, it's completely safe, due to a number of reasons. The way this system releases water energy is extremely safe as it's created on-demand, as the engine needs it and it only ignites inside your engine that gives you some bang for your buck - mileage wise that is.
So, here's the summary of converting your car from gas to water: o Save lots of money $$ o Save the planet o Enhance the performance of your vehicle o DOUBLE or even TRIPLE your mileage o HHO is 3x more potent than gasoline o Works on DIESEL, TURBO & BIG TRUCK ENGINES

How to make Bio Diesel : New toyota 2009
How to make Bio Diesel
by Peter Ryan
It feels great to fill up your vehicle with inexpensive, clean, renewable, non-foreign fuel!
Bio diesel reduces pollution up to 90% because it has no sulphur in it and adds almost no carbon dioxide to the atmosphere. Bio Diesel comes from plants that take carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere and release oxygen. The plants convert the carbon dioxide to oil so when the oil is burned and carbon dioxide is released, it is a small net increase of carbon dioxide. Because it comes from plants it is renewable. It is also easy on your wallet because it only about $1.50 per gallon to make. The fact that we do not have to buy it from foreign countries is also a huge bonus .
Bio diesel can be used in any regular diesel engine such as cars, trucks, tractors, heavy equipment and even generators without modification. It can be used in any combination with petrol diesel from 100% (B100) to 1% (B1). We usually run B100 in the warm months and B50 to B75 in the colder months to keep the fuel from jelling.
Making your own Bio diesel does take some time and equipment but the process is relatively simple. It is a "low tech" process so almost anyone can do it.
I have always felt that the grass roots public will have to solve this energy crisis. For some reason I do not have confidence that big government, big automakers, and big oil companies will ever solve the problems of pollution, cost and foreign dependence. Maybe it is the fact that they do not want to solve these problems and in fact they have a vested interest in keeping things the way they are, which means unbelievable profits, and/or tax revenues and tremendous power. That is why they want to build a Hydrogen Economy so they can continue to have control over the energy. Whereas, Bio diesel could be done by any number of small producers, which would eliminate the ability of a few huge companies or suppliers to control the energy and the prices.
There is not near enough land available to produce enough vegetable oil for our fuel needs using, corn, soy, rapeseed or palm oil but there is enough land available to produce enough vegetable oil for our fuel need using algae. More on this topic later in our series about Bio diesel.
For now lets see how to make our own Bio diesel.
The first thing that you need to find out is what regulations (if any) your local government (usually County) has on picking up and transporting used vegetable oil. Most smaller counties have no regulations and require no permits. Some of the larger counties do, so check with the Health Department of your county and see if a permit is required and what it takes to obtain one. The other permit that may be required is a processing plant permit.
Check this at the same time. Hopefully there will be none required in you area. If there are permits required you must take this into account when looking at the total cost of producing the diesel. One individual in my county even moved to a neighboring county so he could make his own fuel.
The second step is to locate a supply of used fryer oil. At first this may seem daunting, but as you get into it you realize that there are many sources for oil. Restaurants have been our best source but grocery stores, hospitals, retirement homes, private school kitchens, festivals, large churches that have commercial kitchens, gas stations that sell fried chicken etc. all have oil they need to dispose of.
In the next article we'll go into more detail about this process.

Jack Safro Toyota and luxury cars! : New toyota yaris new car review 2009
Jack Safro Toyota and luxury cars!
by Ingrid Sure
The Internet is the best resource for finding both new and used cars. Reputable dealers have started to present their services online, advertising fine luxury cars through the website of their company. No matter if you want to find new cars or you are interested in finding a preowned Toyota, you can be certain that Jack Safro Toyota can measure up to your expectations. You can find a beautiful Toyota at a great price and return whenever you need another car or Toyota parts. You might not consider the World Wide Web to be ideal for finding certified vehicles but it actually is. By visiting one single website, you get to discover several cars and find out detailed information on each of them. Customer satisfaction is guaranteed with every car purchased and Jack Safro is an established name in the field of car dealing. You can never go wrong if you choose any of the cars presented online. They are all made to impress, including when it comes to mechanical features and other characteristics, not to mention their price. Once you go online and search for used/new cars, be prepared to spend some time reading all about their features. Each car is presented in detail and comes with several photos for you to get a general picture. If Toyota is the brand you are interested in, then you can check out available cars. Details include exterior/interior fabric, price, test drive and availability. You can see the year the car was made, the actual model, mileage and transmission (e.g.: automatic with overdrive). Discover where the car is located and inquire about similar vehicles. We all know that purchasing a car means much more than being interested in how it looks. It’s only natural that we are curious about options and accessories available for the car. With Toyota cars, you can enjoy the best in air conditioning or choose advanced climate control. Other features include AM/FM stereo radio, CD player and powerful braking systems. Cars are equipped with electric mirrors, air bags and heated outside mirrors (very useful during the winter). If you want to find out about the type of fabric used for upholstery, keyless entry possibilities or traction control, then be sure to use the Internet. Preowned Toyota might need some adjustments, whereas new cars are bound to have all the features mentioned already included. Toyota Prius is one of the finest cars you can find at Jack Safro Toyota. It comes with an innovative navigation system, seats made from leather (increased comfort) and alloy wheels. With power windows and mirrors, a smart start system and protective airbags, this particular Toyota is definitely a blend between quality, functionality and luxury. You can also go with the 2007 Camry, with knee airbags, ABS brakes and tire pressure monitoring. Toyota Corolla is also a popular model, offering the advantage of fuel economy and impressing through its amazing design. Yes, it can be hard to choose a Toyota car. They all feel like the perfect choice!

Use Less Gas on your Commute : New toyota yaris hybrid cars 2009
Use Less Gas on your Commute
by Mark Gardner
The cost of gas has reached historic prices and it continues to go up on a daily basis. Every night on the news you are bombarded with this fact, as if you didn't notice how much money you are currently spending to fill up your tank compared to a year ago. Increasing gas prices could possibly be a blessing in disguise though.
Gas prices a blessing?
Up until this fuel crisis, other countries had already begun looking for and successfully found more eco-friendly fuel alternatives. The urgency of this event made researchers world-wide work even harder, also in part from consumer demands. Current petroleum consumption to fuel America's cars does affect our wallets, but it does something else, we have preferred to ignore over time. Petroleum produces disastrous effects on our planet.
Here are a few examples of how petroleum pollutes and it affects our world:
* Car exhausts release fossil fuel hydrocarbons into the atmosphere leaving soot deposits in water sources or they are washed out to the ocean by precipitation. * Approximately half the carbon dioxide emitted stays in the atmosphere. * Oil leaks in cars, often pooling in your driveway or parking spot, wash away with rain water into sewers which empty out into streams, rivers, and oceans. * Marine life exposure to oil produces long-term effects on the sensitive habitats and population of marine organisms; primarily resulting in death of millions of living creatures.
After reading these facts, you will hopefully begin to realize your individual impact on the world around you and you will start to make lifestyle changes. Transforming bad habits will make a difference in our environment and will save you money and time.
Here are 4 steps in the right direction:
Step 1- Plan Errands Leave for work an hour early and make stops along the way. Planning errands early in the morning will save you time because stores are less crowded. Plus, you are not going out of your way to do them. You have to go to work so why not check off your "To-Do List" as well.
Step 2- Take the Bus If you don't plan on going anywhere special or need to run any errands, the best alternative in urban living is to go to work via public transit. It is a fraction of the cost compared to the gas you will use and most American cities that offer public transportation that uses only eco-friendly vehicles. They are state regulated and inspected to maintain a high level of fuel efficiency and a low production of greenhouse gas emissions.
3. Carpool
None of my co-workers have ever carpooled and most people shy away from it because of safety reason. That is a weak excuse though. Most people hate the inconvenience of having to wait on someone or having to leave for work a little early and getting home a little later because they have to pick up or drop off a co-worker.
If safety is a real concern, try starting a friends-only carpool with those people you trust and work close to you or along the way. Establishing a carpool route is also another idea you can implement to include people that may be a little out of the way but yet want to participate.
4. Purchase a Hybrid
You may think hybrids are too expensive, but the truth is, they aren't that much more expensive than an economy car. New releases of these vehicles pay for themselves over time and maintain their value over time. This step is truly not that hard of a decision.
Hybrid cars use two energy sources: a small fuel-efficient gas engine and an electric motor. The electric motor is battery powered, recharges automatically while you drive and assists the gas engine when accelerating. The most efficient is the Toyota Prius which will run you about $22,796 at base price. According to Consumer Reports miles-per-gallon rating the Prius drove 50 on the highway and 44 in town. The $18,700 base priced, MINI Cooper top rated among economy cars does 28 MPG in town and 37 MPG on the highway. When you are done comparing, there is only a $4,096 difference between the two and close to double the gas mileage if you choose the Toyota.
In the end, changes only take place when someone is willing to take that first step. Be that person! To engage other co-workers, you may want to calculate how much money you saved after following these 4 steps. Even the most hesitant people to the green idea will try something new to save money. Share what you are doing with people you meet and make a difference!

SUVs are a fashion that has its origins in a military or professional need, are therefore the answer given by the automakers to whom needed a professional vehicle and at same time meet the needs of their evasion and leisure, with comfort, performance and safety for themselves and their families. Thus, professional vehicles, not comfortable, slow and without major safety concerns, have led to vehicles that confer status to their owners.SUVs are becoming more and more popular (among rich people) for a variety of reasons. Vehicle buyers were drawn to their large cabins, higher ride height, and perceived safety. Additionally, some full-size SUVs have far greater towing capacities than conventional cars, allowing owners to tow travel trailers (caravans), trailers, and boats with relative ease. The automakers decided to build vehicles with more powerful engines and apply leading-edge technical solutions and equip them with the most advanced safety systems, and of course with the inevitable systems of the four-wheel traction, which allows the so desired off-road incursions.Safety is a must in these vehicles, airbags abound as well. Front side airbags and curtain side airbags are standard fare. Some also have the ability to deploy in the event of a rollover. If you’re feeling adventurous, vehicles such as the Range Rover have hill descent control that limits the vehicle’s speed when going down steep inclines. The SUV have the ability to make some off-road incursionsNowadays, the SUVs are acquired not only by people who need a vehicle for their professional activities, but also by people seeking a potent and safely vehicle, and everyone that is looking for a desired social status, like the mom that used it to take the boys to school, or go shopping with her husband.Automakers such as Audi, BMW, Jeep, Lexus, Mercedes, Porsche, Hummer, Volvo, Range Rover, Volkswagen, among others, or virtually all manufacturers offers SUVs in its bid. These SUVs are equally or even more comfortable, safe, performance than the berlinas and also give a superior status image to their owners. One of the first automakers to offer a luxury SUV, was the Range Rover then one after another all automakers opted for having luxury SUVs in its bid, after the huge success who had BMW with the X3, X5 and now with the brand new X6, Porsche with Cayenne, Volkswagen with Touareg, Audi with Q7 and Mercedes with the ML, there is a rumour that even Bentley, Lamborghini and Ferrari are preparing a SUVs, if this is true that’s a completely revolution a Ferrari for the family that’s a thing for another world. The automakers offer now not only a model, but two or three; smaller, devoted to the city and trips to the beach or a pic-nic in the field, others to travel with the family and with the dog and other larger and even other more sports in line for the road as is the Porsche Cayenne GTS and radicals such as the BMW coupe X6, competing with sport models or berlinas. The design of SUVs of today is increasingly bold and even sports, the Paris Dakar Rally and the off-road races have influenced a very significant way a whole dynamics of the marks in promoting this type of vehicles. Also the stress of the cities have contributed to the need for evasion and in having a medium that provide such evasion and here they are the SUVs, beautiful, expensive, safely and powerful and with plenty of space to bring family, canoes and all the necessary luggage for a weekend of camping in the mountains with mud and snow. http://infodp.com/auto
